TThere are so many places to eat in Marrakech, many of which are very close by, from traditional Arabic to Italian. We'll be delighted to point you towards all our favourites places to eat and drink. For a real Moroccan treat, try nearby Dar Yacout, a landmark in Marrakech, opened over 20 years ago and with highly traditional Moroccan gastronomic cuisine.

if you prefer to eat in we can arrange traditional Moroccan meals or we can order a range of reasonably priced take away Pizzas.

Although the water in Marrakech is safe to drink, we recommend bottled water which is widely available.

It's hot in the summer with July and August temperatures reaching 40 degrees c daily.  The Medina is designed for this with tall buildings and narrow streets so it is not as intense as it could be.  Spring and Autumn offer the best weather with temperatures up to 30 in the day and pleasantly warm evenings. Winter sees cold nights, but there is usually plenty of sunshine during the day.

Many budget airlines now fly to Marrakech. Ryanair and Easy Jet being the most frequent.  Also the earlier you book, the cheaper it tends to be, barring the occasional special offers.  Royal Air Maroc fly frequently from Gatwick offering a service that includes generous luggage allowance and food

Our Riad is set in the heart of the Medina, the historical centre of Marrakesh. In a slightly quieter, historic and completely authentic residential area, it is easy to escape the sometimes frantic hustle & bustle of the square and souks and yet we are only 5-10 minutes walk from the souks and around 25 minutes to the square itself. We are extremely close to the main taxi station and also near to the Marjorelle Gardens. See the Google map.

We've done the haggling in advance, so are able to organise numerous excursions for you with a friendly english speaking driver, with no hassle, a pre-agreed price and a pick up from just near the Riad.

The most popular are to the lovely, relaxed seaside town and port of Essaouira, where you can ride camels, or Arabian horses along the sweeping beach, watch the fishermen landing their catches, or wander round the delightful souks, snapping up even more bargains. Or there is the Ourika valley or the amazing vistas of the Atlas mountains which are only an hour and a half away.

Another favourite is a horse and carriage ride around all the very best bits of the city. Again, there will be no haggling over the price. We've already negotiated a great deal with an excellent driver.
